New To Kpro. K24 in 2000 Civic. Need Help...

Post by kay_animation »

I have a K24 in a 2000 Civic hatch. It was dyno tuned by a shop by the previous owner. I have been getting familiar with the system and after syncing up backed up my stock kal as well as made some adjustments to things that seemed off and uploaded them.

I changed idle RPM to 750 (It used to be 1100 for some reason).
Also changed knock to flash the cell (which is where my question comes from).

Since turning on that setting it flashes a lot when I lift off the gas as RPMs fall. I drove from the gas station to the house and kpro (sensor window) says it counted 580 knocks. The ride is about 5 minutes. That just sounds insane.

Setup:
2000 Civic Platform
K24a2 (07) TSX Motor (All stock internals/NA).
Kidd Racing Header -> 2.5" exhaust
3" Intake
IACV Delete
RBC
70mm Skunk2 TB
410 RDX Injectors

Question is is there something wrong?

There could be. Since this could be a tuning issue I would recommend takign it to a dealer or a tuner that can listen to it and determine if it is really knocking or not. If it is you could cause some serious damage if it is not corrected.

Got ya. I actually switched to the Stock k24 tune that comes with the software and I did a half an hour trip with only 5 knocks with that tune. Lean protection kicks in close to 4800 (which is vtec I think) so I'm sure it definitely needs to be retuned. But at least this base tune is better in getting the car from place to place safely.

Thanks
