This problem started yesterday for me. Problem is that while cruising after the car gets to temperature, the engine will momentarily turn off and a CEL will be displayed and then it will come back. The car will shake violently due to basically hitting a brick wall.
So today when I got the laptop out and got to datalog while criusing at about 70 mph down the interstate, with CC on I hit the datalog button right after the problem happened the first time today and when it stumbled again, and came back the balloon saying that the ECU is connected and press F10 to start datalogging which leads me to believe that the ECU is turning off for some reason. So I do have a 13 second log showing an odd increase in ignition timing and injector latency...

Re: ECU disconnect when hot
My theory is that if it were the main relay, it would have not started in the first place. When this happens air con is on at full blast, and the relay location is right under a vent.
Also of note, if I am in stop and go and it stalls out, starts again just fine with the key.

Re: ECU disconnect when hot
It could also be a bad ignition switch. Try the ECU in a known workign car and see if the problem persists. If it does you may have a faulty ECU.
Re: ECU disconnect when hot
Trying the ECU might take a bit. Gotta find a friend with a OBDI Honda/manual
Kinda ruling out ignition switch due to the fact that the car stays on, cluster still active and radio on.

Re: ECU disconnect when hot
well you can have a bad ignition switch and the radio will still be on, trust me...I replaced mine 2 weeks ago. IT started by just dying when i came to a stop one, then got to a point where sometimes it did not want to start, then it finally died on the freeway and was neary impossible to restart due to a dead spot in the switch.
