Pronlem with Flashpro Locking/unlocking

Post by ghost_bhp »

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is an issue with the latest firmware for flashpro.

I bought a used Flashpro that was unlocked and sent to me.

Screenshot provided by seller:

I then installed flashpro manager .. updated to 1.2.8.0

When i plugged the flashpro in it updated the firmware.

now when i go to lock it to my vehicle :

it asks me to unlock it?

Any help would be appreciated.

It is still locked to the original car. You will have to send it to the previous owner and get them to unlock it.

The only problem is he has sold the car and I live in the UK and he lives in Australia. Is it possible that it was unlocked but once the firmware on the unit was updated it then re -locked the unit back to the previous ECU ?

I asked the seller for proof that the unit was unlocked... which is the top screenshot he sent me? (does that state it is unlocked?)

The firmware update would not have changed the locking.

What seems to happen in these cases is that the FlashPro gets plugged back into a car, which records the VIN (but does not lock to it), and then gets locked to that VIN. However, in this case the VIN number for your ECU is from a US Civic, not a UK or Australian vehicle, so I'm not sure what has gone on.

You can send us the support information and I'll be able to tell you when the unit was re-locked, but it still needs the original vehicle to unlock from.

What would you like me to send?

Both cars are fn2 civics. Is there no way of doing it remotely without the original ecu?

If you look at the seller's screen shot you will see that it for FlashPro 20630. Your FlashPro is 21180.

Thanks guys,

There has either been a mix up or the seller isn't as honest as I thought. If things do go wrong however, would I be able to pay you guys to unlock this unit?

We cannot unlock it without the ECU that it is locked to.

This user states you unlocked his for him?
BlueSi4;6768961 wrote:Got an answer back from Hondata. I can either send it back to the seller and have him unlock it OR I can send it back to Hondata and they can unlock it. Considering the seller is in Ohio and Hondata is in Cali, I'll take less time to send it to the seller.

We have never told anyone that we will unlock their FlashPro without the ECU, including the user in the post you linked to.
