Flash Pro wont recognize when hooked up to my laptop

I have 2 laptops here and i cant get the Flash Pro to recognize that its pluged in. Any clue as to what i have to do on my end for it to recognize? Im running a little rich since the exhaust change and i need to set my rev to the two step. I heard there is a USB file that may have to be down loaded, is this true and where can i find it? Thanks for all your help.

sounds like you might have to update you drivers for windows and also for the fp. the help section on the install disk fixed this problem for me (i had the same issues)

I did try this and it said that i had the most up to date driver, this is why its driving me so crazy. Thanks for the input on this issue.

Download this driver setup program: http://hondata.com/updates/FlashProDrivers.exe

then install it and folow the on-screen instructions that come up. Make sure to follow the instructions for your specific version of windows.

I just did this again and still no luck. There are some things i need and want to change but cant because i cant get into it......ughhhh

How exactly are you installing the driver?

I'm opening it up and saving it to my desk top. After that i download and install it. I have also gone threw ( my computer ) to find the file and try to update the driver from there. It always tells me that's i have the latest driver for this application. When i plug it in to my laptop it makes a weird sound, not the normal sound when you plug something in, its almost like its laughing at you.....lol

When you install the driver executable it will launch the help file. You must follow the instructions in the help file exactly to install the driver. It will walk you through the process step by step. Make sure you follow the instructions for your version of windows.

I have tried everything and still no go. I tried to Manuely download the driver and let the computer do it as well and no luck. What are my next options going forward from here? If it gets sent back to you is there anything you can do?

WHat version of windows are you using? Is it 32bit or 64bit? What directory are you point it to to install the driver from?

I'm running windows 7 64 bit and the file it is saving to is C:\Program Files (x86)\FlashProManager.

Are you installing the driver manually through the Windows device manager?

Im sure im not but then again i have been at this for a few days not. Please explain to me how to do this manually and i will test and see if i can get it to work. In device manager i have right clicked on it to find new driver on my computer and from off the internet and both ways tell me they can not find any thing.

You must follow the insturctions in the help file, it will walk you through this. If you do not follow the isntructions it will not work.

That did the trick. Thank you very much for all your info and help. I wasn't putting in the correct path for it to find the drivers.
