Is switching from PW0/PR3 to obd1 on 1'st gen B16a worth it?

Post by brokenojoke »

I want to order Hondata, but I don't know which unit to buy. I'm currently OBD0 in my 89 civic dx. I'm putting in a fairly built up B16a. The tech section mentions that you can use the PW0 and PR3, but recommends switching to obd1. WHY? I have a PW0 and PR3 just laying around. If I can get away with using them, it would be great.

And if I do switch to obd1, i have to get a p28, right? And then get a distributer to an obd1 car. What distributor mounting legs would work with 1'st gen B16a???? Do I have to gut the insides of an obd1 dist, and put it into the obd0?

Help me out here, I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff I don't need. I'm too broke as it is..... :? which unit do I buy? I'm going to be road racing this car 95% of it's life, if that helps at all.
