What happend to Stage 1

I guess this is for Hondata to answer. What happend to stage 1 feature of the system. The way I understood it was that with a stage 4 you would be able to program a single chip ECU without using the interface box

Stage 4 users can only program stages 2/3/4. Stage 1 was a feature-stripped ROM that Hondata provided at a much lower cost. It didn't require an interface box because it didn't need any external inputs or outputs.

All ROMs created with a Stage 4 user's ROM Editor program still require the use of a Hondata interface box, otherwise you're limited to 4k rpm and 1 psi of boost. Otherwise a Stage 4 user could just churn out ROMs for all their buddies with modified fuel/timing/VTEC/rev limiters, for the mere price of a PROM chip.

Stage 1 never existed. We developed the circuit but then held the release until V3 was released. In the near future a product similar to the stage 1 will be released.

What did you guys call the modification where you just reprogrammed the vtec point and rev limiter? I thought that was Stage 1...

Used to be listed on your web site, but that was well before the s200 was released.

This was something we sold just for the PW0 but stopped selling the stage 1 once piracy was a problem. I think the last one we sold was in 1999. The stage 1 was developed about 1 year ago, but unfortunately the marketing division got word of it from the r&d division before the stage 1 was finished, and subsequently it was advertised before it was finished. In the meantime V3 came along, and the stage 1 was delayed for about 10 months. Now the stage 1 is called a s100, and will be released soon

Ok so what will the S100 bring to such of an advantage that the S200 full owners meaning = to Stage 4 would be able to do for the S100 owners.

Will it use an interface box? Or will it be a Chip Mod?
