Hi, i have 2 questions:
1) First, how can i check whether my vtec is able to be engaged and working? Is there any sensor reading i can use in hondata? Can I just datalog the VTS value?
2) Next, I read some bro have to disable launch control to allow vtec to be engaged? is it necessary and why?

VTEC is ok?
VTEC is ok?

Re: VTEC is ok?
Look at the VTS in the sensor slist and verify on the dyno that it is making the power it should be.
I"m not sure where you got that information, but it is incorrect.

Re: VTEC is ok?
Monitored and found the VTP always 'ON' regardless of speed and RPM. (VTP is 'ON' even after i removed the oil pressure connector near VTEC solenoid) ---> Hmm...it seems like Hondata do not need the oil pressure sensor at all!
While VTP is alway 'ON', my VTS is alway 'OFF'. Since VTS is alway OFF, I decided to plug in another VTEC solenoid to try out.(that is after i removed the current VTEC solenoid and found no clogging occurring)

Re: VTEC is ok?
Swapped to my spare VTEC solenoid. VTEC still do not kick in. I start to suspect it is due to the connector which plug in to the VTEC pressure sensor (oil pressure sensor). The wiring was broke and I soldered it. And now regardless of whether I plug in the connector to the VTEC pressure sensor, the VTP value is alway 'ON' when i datalog with Hondata. Is it due to the connector which cause hondata to think oil pressure is always HIGH (i.e. Engine oil is always cold) and thus do not engage VTEC? Anyway I can do a quick test by tricking the ECU my VTP is off?
By the way I am running OPEN loop. My Pivot shift light also never turn on when i suppose to cross over to high cam (i.e VTEC).

Friend helped me.Didn't realise my TPS need to be > 40% even if i reached the RPM which VTEC should be engaged..lol..
