VTEC will not engage, please HELP! and Datalog issue.
I am having a problem with the car not going into VTEC. I am running a B18C1 with a P28 ECU in a EG. I have triple checked my wiring, and its correct.. The Oil level is good. I was told that the Vtec pressure sensor should be grounded. I have grounded in on the solenoid itself, and also on the thermostat housing. I dont know what else to do? Can someone please shed some light on this issue? I am also having an issue with my datalogging freezing. Is there a way to fix it?

I grounded everything, or at least everything is is "grounded" to something. Do you know of good places to ground in a EGProgress wrote:Check your grounds

Get the Factory service manual and ETM from Helm Inc. This will help you wire everything properly.

I checked my grounds, I even sanded all the paint off where the goes. Still no VTEC. I disconnected the solenoid and got CEL 21. The I did the 12v test and i got an audible click. I checked the oil while the motor was cold, and the level was slightly above full. Im at a lose here. Any other help??Spunkster wrote:Get the Factory service manual and ETM from Helm Inc. The datalog says VTEC is engaging. Hook up a test light to the VTC output and see if it lights up when you activate vtec.

Yes, My speedo works. I also just put a new Oil Pump on so I doubt it will be a pressure issue. I noticed on some other datalogs that VTP stays on. Mine doesn't, could that be the issue? I fixed the think the datalog problem was a crappy USB cable. I haven't tried the the Test light but I did check to see if there is Continuity from the plug to the ECU, and that checks out good. Im Lost. Could it be a bad ECU?burmese434 wrote:Is your speedo working?

*UPDATE* I put another another ecu in and it hit vtec. I guess I have to have the s300 put into the other ecu.

*UPDATE* VTEC works, but I have to disable the launch control. Is there any way to fix this?

You need to post the calibration and a datalog showing this problem.
