P28 or P75 for Ls/T?

Post by pissedoffsol »

Hey guys... couple questions for you.

I own a 94 del sol si (d16z6) and i am planning on an LS/turbo set up. My question is, Which ECU should I use for the hondata, the p28 or the p75? I own both already, both are obd1, both plug right in, and both will run my car. But which is better, after being 'chipped' by the s200 system?

Thanks for any input.

This is a great question. I've 92 Civic CX and building a B18B turbo myself. I also have 98 GS-R transmission mated to that motor. What ECU should I use?

Take your pick.

Well guys either ECU will work with your setup after being chiped with Hondata but for the B18 I would choose the P75 0r P72 ECU because the P28 does not provide support for the Knock sensor.

the LS has No knock sensor. no need for it on the ecu.

The P28 seems to have the least amount of problems. Knock is disabled with Hondata anyway, you will not need it with a good tune!!

least amount of problems you say...

I don't mean to sound like a dick-- but is there proof to back this up? I'm really just trying to decide which ecu I am going to send out to get 'chipped', and unless I hear otherwise, I am going to put the hondata on the p75 for my LS swap, as- well- its the ecu for the motor.

Any other thoughts?

ECU for LS

It does not make any difference which ECU you use. Both the P28 and P74 can be made to run non-VTEC.

It just seems from my experience and from reading these forums and the old ones. Things just work better with a P28.

Non VTEC ECUs

The P28, P74 and P75 will all work equally as well with V3. With V2.5 your choices would have been limited to just the P75.
