PNF K-Proed ECU in base RSX

Post by havilandesign »

I got a PNF k-proed ecu to put in my 03 base RSX and I just wanted to confirm that it will work fine as long as the immobilizer is turned off correct? Do I run any risk by not having the intake runner control that I would have had with my PND? And when I upload kals do I still use the ones for the RSX base k20a3 even though it was out of a 04 Civic si hatch? Thanks for the help.

You will probably loose power and torque by not having the AIB control.

A noticeable amount? If I upload the k20a3 stock tuned 91 octane kal should I see significant improvements over stock at least? Or will I be able to tune it to where I gain back that lost power?

It would be best to just use the proper PND ECU with K-Pro.

I already got the PNK one though so what would be the best route from here? Someone suggested running the PRB manifold off a type-s?

That intake manifold is not designed for that engine and may not give any gains and may even hurt performance.

So aside from getting a different k-proed ecu what would be the best way for me to get back that power and then some? Could I run the rsx base tuned 91 octane calibration as it is without problems?

The cams in that engine are designed for the dual runner manifold, tuning cannot make up for physical differences.

Thats understandable, but there must be some way I will still be able to utilize this kpro in my car as it is now right?

Or is it possible for me to send you my stock PND ECU along with the PNF K-Proed one and have the K-Pro transfered to my stock one? If so, at what cost?

No, we do not swap K-Pro boards from working ECUs.
