S300 Idle-Up

Post by Johnny_9 »

Got a "geeky" question on details of of idle-up when ACSW=on. Does the ACSW send a signal to the ECU when then increases the duty cycle of the IACV valve to increase idle speed, then the ACCL is engaged? What is the time delay set by the ECU between ACSW on, idle-up and ACCL engagement. Does the the ELD signal into the ECU pay a big role (in the idle-up) process? Is there anything in the current S300 architecture which would make a difference where the idle speed is set
Below 1,000 rpm or Above 1,000 rpm

Why I am asking is I just got my car retuned with a wideband at the dyno and the idle was set nicely at 1,000 rpm - when the AC was switched on I could see the idle rpm go-up before the ACCL engagement

Later When I set my idle to 1,150 by myself (with a wideband) I could see the rpm idle-up before ACCL engagement - granted I didn't tune area around the new idle rpm with a wideband - noted from previous posts from Hondata and elsewhere of the IMPORTANCE of getting idle AFR spot on and a good swing in STRIMs, so it could be becoz my idle AFR at 1,150 were not spot on......But I wonder is there anything inherent in the S300 architecture that assumes idle rpm is around stock or only slightly higher

Anyway would be nice to have features to fully customise the idle - on my car the current beta 1.5.4 works well with ACSW=OFF, but not so well when ACSW=ON. HW wise there are many variables why we would need to customised

Customised air-con - weight of stator, compressor,
Flywheel weight
Cams etc

This a feature request for markets where there is daily or seasonal use of air-con. it is something of a hygiene factor for a great product...
