Kpro issues - determining whether or not the ECU is bad.

Post by prancer »

- serial number of your K-Pro : 05008585
- KManager version (not 'the latest') : 1.5.1.0
- the calibration (as an attachment) : can't upload any...
- a datalog of a problem (as an attachment) : N/A
- what sort of vehicle you have : 95 3DR CX
- what sort of ECU you are using : PRB Kpro
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc). : 2006 k24a2, type S 6 speed, Chase Bays engine harness, Hybrid Racing conversion harness, RDX 410 injectors.
- a specific description of the problem : Car has power... It sounds strong and cranks, the fuel pump is priming and making its way to the fuel rail. At first I thought the injectors were firing, but after a more thorough test today, I believe they are not spraying fuel at all. When I plug the ECU in the vehicle and have the laptop hooked up, it recognizes when the ignition is on and also says, "Online" but I can NOT upload any calibrations. After a second it says "Upload failed". I also make sure to disable multiplexer, OBD2 options, and adjust for the larger injectors. I can also not read any CEL with an OBD2 reader when plugging it into the OBD2 port on the Hybrid Racing conversion harness. It tries to read it and tells me there is an ECU connection error. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software 7 times now. Always completely removing the Kmanager software and deleting USB related drivers. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps of clearing security and checking for USB driver updates. I do not have spark - I have tried multiple tests with out luck. I have tried messing with grounds and double checked connections. I have tried little things, such as making sure I have a power source to the laptop when it is connected. Dash lights come on, and from what I can tell everything is getting power. My gut feeling is the PRB is bad. I bought the Kpro'd PRB unit from an individual, and not new.

Recap of problems:

- No spark

- Injectors aren't spraying

- Inability to read CEL via OBD2 reader.

- Cant upload any calibrations.
