What K-Pro map should we use?

Post by tp »

Hi All.
Very impressed with the K-Pro just sad I couldn't make the seminar at Heathrow due to work commitments as I only live 5 mins away.

I am having a K-pro installed in the next few days together with a GruppeM, Hondata gasket and Spoon catback that is already fitted and wondered what map you would recommend as a good basepoint for dyno tuning?

Or infact there is a map suitable from start that doesnt actually need a dyno setup?

Thanks
Paul

Mmmmmm

Didn't work. :?
It brought up an internal error so we loaded the standard reflash map for now.

Is this because the RSX maps are for the US ECU and I am running a euro?

You need to make sure you are loading the Euro CTR maps.

That's what I thought but was told by several UK owners that the correct map for my car (Spoon catback, GruppeM) was the RSX with cold air tuned. :? :? :?

You can not run a RSX program in the Euro Civic Type R!

I do hope so Alan because I'm about to try it.
I have cut and pasted all the ign/fuel/cam maps onto a spreadsheet then pasted them into a new custom Euro map. Used some of the parameters incl the vtec settings from the RSX.
Can anyone forsee any potential conflicts?

Bit suprised there wasnt a cold air map for the euro spec car though, but then again it is all new stuff over here. 8)

Some of the rpm index values are different between the US and Euro maps so cutting & pasting tables values will alter the tables.

yes i noticed that too however the rpm differences were not much and i think rather than a crude cut and paste u could interpolate manually to be strictly accurate if you wanted
