Hey guys I have a problem hopefully you guys can help me out with pretty fast because i am supposed to be tuned tomorrow and my car wont start.
Ok so Friday night i crank the motor over to build oil pressure and builds up fine...ok cool i hook the fuel pump up and it primes so im ready to fire right.....NO the car wont start....so i start troubleshooting and cant seem to come up with anything
2002 Acura RSX Type-S
Im running Precision 1600cc injectors
Honda resisitor box
When i hooked up the battery for the first time i didnt realize the key was in the on position but it was..idk if that has anything to do with this or not?
While my car was down over the winter i deleted a bunch of un-needed wires and things such as srs, abs, blower motor, climate control, rear wiper and other various things inside of the car.....
I did relocate the fusebox thats under the hood to the inside of the car...and deleted the abs plug, ps plug, brake fluid plug, secondary 02 plug, SRS plugs
and on both of the above when i say delete i didnt just cut the wire and pull the plug...i traced every wire and de pinned it at the other plug...
the engine wiring harness was untouched and worked when the car was together last year...
As for trouble shooting I had a weak injector pulse before and it was caused by a bad map sensor...
i have tried 3 different map sensors and nothing changed
tried known working resistor box, nothing changed
tried different cam sesnsors, nothing changed
tried different crank position sensor, nothing changed
I checked the FI ECU fuse and it was good
testing injector pulse with a noid light
compression test and everything looked good
car will start and run on carb cleaner but die as soon as carb cleaner is done
I am stumped i dont know where else to go from here??? if some of you guys can chime in and help out it would be greatly apperciated I really hope i can make this tuning apointment tomorrow
Cliff Notes:
-2002 Acura RSX Type-S
-Precision 1600cc injectors with Honda resistor box
-Fuel pressure at rail is 40 psi
-Car WILL run on carb clean when sprayed into intake manifold
-Weak Injector pulse; very dim noid light (tester)
-Tried different: resistor box, cam sensors, crank sensor, map sensor nothign changed
-Deleted a bunch of uneeded stuff from inside the car over the winter (wiring)
-relocated under hood fusebox to inside of car, using same ground locations for battery only...alll other grounds have been moved
HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tuned
Re: HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tu
Try the ECU on a known good car. You have done so much and have such large injectors that it could be either a tuning issue, or a wiring problem.
Re: HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tu
I'm almost positive its not the tune...it was tuned last August on the same ecu same wiring harness, and same injectors and resistor box...how many injector drivers are there in the k pro ecu? Two? One for 1, 4 and one for 2, 3????any way an injecotr driver can be bad???Spunkster wrote:Try the ECU on a known good car. I have 12 volts to injector clips 1, 2, 3...but no volts to injector clip 4
I have 12 volts to the resistor box
Just tried a good known resistor box, no change
There is continuity between injector clip and the ecu plug on all four injector clips

Re: HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tu
well i do have some updates from today....I had a bad connection on number four injector thats why there wasnt 12 volts to the clip....however i fixed it and i dont have any injector pulse at all....i checked continuity from the resistor box plug to the injector clips and they all have continuity....i checked the continuity from the engine harness ecu plug to the injector clip and have continuity there...tried a known good resistor box and nothing changed..changed map sensors again no change...idk maybe leaning towards injector driver being out in the ecu??? idk

lol @ spunkster.. I love this guy.. hahaha
Re: HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tu
Well my ecu acted weird but ran someone elses car fine...so any other ideas
Re: HELP!!! weak injector pulse wont start supposed to be tu
This sounds like a tuning issue. Get it tuned peroply and it should run like it is supposed to.

You are about as much help as the people that work at hondata.... no helpSpunkster wrote:This sounds like a tuning issue. Get it tuned peroply and it should run like it is supposed to.
