reaching load column 10

Post by metalmatrixmatt »

Hello,

I have just finished my first ever base tune. It went fairly well and the car drives really well despite a low cam fuel table that looks like spaghetti.

However, the car does not seem to pull as hard as it should, I have not messed with timing all that much as I dont really have the resources to accurately tune it. I do however suspect that my throttle body is holding me back. Tuning from the stock ITR map that smanager supplies I can not reach load column 10 and barely load column 9, most of the pull stays in load column 8. So, Column 8 is -2.1psi, column 9 being -0.5psi, and column 10 is 0.4psi.

So I dont know if it is normal for a N/A engine to reach -.5 psi at WOT. This is basically my question, Weather or not the psi numbers on the top of the column are incorrect which is why i cant get to load column 9 or 10, or if (what I suspect) my throttle body is restricting flow and creating a bit of a vacuum.

The engine is a poor mans type r with a type r intake manifold but standard b16 throttle body running skunk2 pro 1 cams.

Thank you guys very much, really appreciate it.

Depends on barometric pressure, altitude and how restrictive your induction system is.
