programming stock ecu?

Post by hondadriver »

Hi, over the winter I swapped in a JDM 2nd Gen B16a into my 98 civic lx. I rewired my engine harness and I changed the plug on the harness so that I can use the 99-00 civic si ecu. So, The car runs great no problem at ALL, Except one emission code that will not go away. The code is P1457 ( evap leak charcoal canister area). I've been troubleshooting this for the last 2 months. I bought a vacuum pump, and test all the hoses. I also put hose clamps on all the hoses, and replace the vent shut off valve, two way valve, and the bypass solenoid! I'm am so pissed I have NO CLUE what it can be?? So after all this what I would like to do see if I can get those f*cking codes out of my ecu. I read on this site about the programmable ecus and how you can turn off any sensor. But i can't spend that much, i'm not modifying my car so much that I will use that all the time. and I don't wanna pay $1300 to turn off 2-3 sensors. So Can you guys reprogramm my ecu to turn those off or just completely erase them out???

Hondata does not offer any products for OBD2 ecus. To use a Hondata system, you will have ot convert to an OBD1 ecu. I would suggest takign the car to someone familiar with engine swaps and they can diagnose the issue for you.
