AIM Strada Hondata Setup

Post by fitchsoccer342 »

So I have the AIM Strada MXL and the Hondata board connector, going through the instructions (which is from an older version of Kmanager), it says to "
1. install KManager software
2. right click on “KManager.ini” file situated in KManager installation folder.
3. Open it with the Notepad.
4. Add a row stating “Dataloggingoutput=1” after [Settings] one as shown here below
5. Save and close the file.

My question is: there is no Kmanager.ini initialization file, I am guessing over the years Hondata has moved either into the registry or using a .config or something file with the updates. Is this step necessary anymore? Or do all I need to do as far as Kmanager is set the multiplexer value to Datalogger Output (9.600 bps)? I appreciate the help.

The KManager.ini file has moved into the user data area. In any case, with the latest version of KManager select the Datalogger output from the Multiplexer tab.

Ok so I am running into some problems installing this.

Basically the instructions are:

So I am hooking this up to "E" pin 24 on the Kpro ECU, but I am not getting power or anything. If I hook directly up to a power/ground in my car, the dashlogger instantly lights up. I have the multiplexer value set in my current calibration to 9600 bps.

I am running Kpro on my 05-06 DC5 type-s, do I still hook up directly to pin "E" 24 on the ECU? Or should I be hooking into another pin on the 05-06 adapter harness?
Any insight is appreciated.

You are still using an 02-04 ECU, so the pin does not change at the ECU.

Hmmm... Only thing I can think of then is my Hondata board (the middle man of the logger and ECU) is bad. I'm going to buy another and report back.

So for adding a row stating “Dataloggingoutput=1” after [Settings] in the kmanager.ini file (from my initial post), this setting is already set =1 in the newest version of Kmanager and now compiled into a .dll instead of using a initialization file? I appreciate the help.

you have to have a PRB cal or the output from pin 24 will not work .

i recently did a k20 conversion on an elise with an aim dash, you also need to tell the dash its looking for a hondata ecu as stated below

taken from AIM instructions-
Technical notes:
Hondata KPro protocol works with PRB ECU and - if PRB calibration is loaded- also with PNF, PND, PRC and PRD ECUs.
Moreover, to work properly, KPro ECU needs AIM “Hondata board” (Part number X05EFIHKPRO).
Once the ECU is connected to the logger, it is necessary to set it in the logger configuration in Race Studio 2 software.
Select Manufacturer “Hondata” Model “KPro”.
Refer to Race Studio Configuration user manual for further information concerning the loggers configuration.
For any further information concerning ECU firmware/software settings and/or upgrading it is always recommended to address to the ECU dealer.
