Z6 ITB setup

Post by clinchy »

hey people,

ive done soem base setups before on my previous boost builds mainly setting up cold idles and part throtlle AFR's for break in purposes.

my new build is a high comp D16Z6.

should i run a vac line from each throttle body to a vac log and attach my IACV and MAP to it?

what do i do about the FITV? as i want a cold idle.

ive never fiddle with alpha-N either, if i just set a safe timing base can i just adast the AFR's as per usual?

cheers for any info.

luke.

im mapping a b16 with itbs soon and with his setup idle is adjusted via the itbs, id then imagine you'd leave the iacv unplugged and select disable iac error in the parameters?

but yea run one vac line off each to a vac mani and fit the map sensor to that.

any more info on this guys?

On my B16 setup I didnt use an IACV, I adjust the idle with my ignition (not sure if it's necessarily the right thing to do, but it works for me).

I run one vac. line from each cylinder to a plenum, from which I draw MAP input and brake booster. I have seen several professional setups with the booster run directly to a large port on just one cylinder, with seemingly no drawback in driveability or performance. Hope this helps, and good luck with learning alpha-n tuning!
