WOT fuel compensation and catalyst protection tables ...do they work for PRA ECU (European Civic Type R)?
Yes.
When "use stock knock control logic" is enabled, which values are taken from the knock tables under boost conditions? ...there are no boost columns, so I guess the ECU uses column 10 values ...is that correct?
Yes, it uses the highest load values.

WOT Fuel Compensation

Post by taitcw »

I noticed the values in the 4 WOT comp tables have range of 7.4 to 29.4 (most of them are default to 12.5). How are these values get used by ECU for enrichment at WOT condition?

How does the ECU decide when to use the 'cat protect' tables? (Based on ECU estimate EGT?? How?)

How does ECU define "WOT", based on TPS reading? (i.e. 100% TPS = WOT?)

dfws2k: Use KManager 1.5.0 - the beta version has been released.

taitcw: WOT compensation table values should all be lambda 0.80-0.85 (11.8-12.5 AFR). You should not see 7.4 or 29.4.

The ECU determines to use the cat protect based on estimated cat temperature.

WOT is determined by throttle or MAP. The MAP threshold can be adjusted in closed loop settings.

Yes values in [WOT Comp Tables] will be shown in 'Lambda' if Options\Settings\Lambda Overlay\Lambda Unit is selected to be Lambda and vice versa.

Just want to clarify your second point, do you mean "Maximum MAP for closed loop" setting under "Closed Loop" tab? So if I set it to 87kPa, ECU consider MAP condition above 87kPa as WOT (Hence it uses WOT Comp Tables). Correct??

I could see the high speed default values above 7400rpm (Col 9 and 10) are 11.8 AFR, does that mean the ECU will adjust (override) the fuel values that I have set in high speed fuel table (to achieve 11.8 AFR)?

I am currently experiencing upload problems with the 1.5.0 version of Kmanager. As soon as I upgrade to the 1.5 version, I could no longer upload any calibrations. I can't even hear the fuel pump clicking like its getting the message.

I can still connect to the ECU and read the sensors, but am unable to UPLOAD a .kal.

2004 Acura RSX-S

Can you please post the 1.4.5.7 version back up so I can use it?

Thanks,

Sam

Also,

I have posted this issue on Club RSX and several others have attempted to download the new 1.5.0 version. All of them are running into the same problem and others along with it.

Please post up the previous 1.4.5.7 version.

Thanks,

Sam

This has been covered many times - never 'downgrade' your version of software. Is there any way we can convince people not to do this?

If you are having a problem with 1.5.0, then you can start be explaining what you have, what you are doing and what goes wrong when you upload. eg.

What is the serial number of your KPro?
Has it worked previously?
What was the previous version of software you used?
What calibration are you uploading?
Was it loaded from disk or downloaded from the KPro?
Does it upload with a new calibration?
Where does the upload fail?
Are there any warning or error messages?
Have you tried clearing security and re-uploading?
Have you tried to re-download and instal KManager from our website?

Since it works here, you might wish to send your calibration so that we can test it.

Sure...

I dont have the ECU Serial number on me but I can find that out later.

Sunday I used v1.4.1 and my calibrations uploaded with no problem. I upgraded to 1.5.0 because I am doing some tuning and the tuner uses the 1.5.0 version. I upgraded my version 1.4.1 to 1.5.0 then opened the new calibration from my tuner (attached).

I then attempted to upload the calibration to the car and I kept getting an instant "upload failed". I tried restarting the computer, different USB ports, different laptops. Everyone had the same "upload failed" instantly pop up as soon as I tried to upload. The fuel pump isn't even clicking like its getting a message.

One interesting thing though...I am able to read the sensors in "live" mode with the car off OR running. I am simply unable to load a new calibration to the ECU with the 1.5.0 version.

Attached is the file I am attempting to load.

I am afraid to clear securities because if I do and it still doesn't work my car is a dead weight. I would LIKE to be able to have a backup calibration and kmanager version to return the car to its previous state in case this doesnt work.

Hope this helps,

Sam

Your calibration uploads ok here. Let me know what serial number it is so that I can test with the same KPro hardware version as you.

Let me go to my car here at work and I'll try to get the serial number.

Im curious if I need to clear securities for this new version to work? Im afraid to do this as I've stated before without a way to revert the car back to its previous state.

BRB...

Thank you for the reply.
