No USB drivers

Post by reyak »

- serial number FP-R18-US-50091
- FlashPro Manager version: 1.1.7.4
- what sort of vehicle you have : HONDA CIVIC EX COUPE
- using windows XP

- I go into Found New Hardware to install the USB drivers for the flashpro but when i put C:\Program Files\FlashPro it tells me the location you specified does not contain any device information files. I installed the flashpro manager without any problems and the folder for it is located at C:\Program Files\FlashPro so the folder is there. Is there another way to get the drivers i need?

Thanks for your time.

Yeah i ended up trying that also. these 2 files showed up.
1. handata flashpro 1.0.2.0 hondata, inc c\windows\inf\oem68.inf

2. handata flashpro 1.0.2.0 hondata, inc c\windows\inf\oem67.inf

i clicked on file 1. and it installs but once it finishes installing the found new hardware window pops up again. i've gone to device manager and under properties it states:

This device is working properly.

The drivers for this device will be uninstalled when the machine is restarted. Any changes you make to this device will not be preserved.

If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter.

when i start up flashpro manager after this a window pops up saying the flashpro firmware will be upgraded. I click ok and the manager freezes. after i force quit the green power light on the device starts flashing.

Go to the device manager and click on update driver, then follow the instructions in the help file:

Three problems I can see - a reboot means that FlashProManager was running then the drivers were installed, when installing drivers you chose 'Don't search', and selected the existing inf files and the volatile message is related to anti-virus software blocking access to the registry or drivers.

1. Shut down FlashProManager.
2. Important: Uninstall antivirus software. Microsoft security essentials is ok.
3. Start device manager.
4. Plug in the FlashPro.
5. Cancel any prompts to install drivers.
6. Right click on FlashPro and un-install the drivers.
7. Unplug and replug the FlashPro.
8. You should get a prompt to install the drivers. Follow http://www.hondata.com/help/flashpro/in ... rivers.htm

tried it and still not working. i ended up finding a go around to the problem. if i use the manager v 1.1.5.6 install driver it works but the only problem i have is that each time i unhook the flashpro and hook it back in i have to uninstal then reinstalll the driver each time. this is the only way i've found where i can use the flashpro. hopefully when my laptop comes in it'll install the right way.
