Fuel not changing under boost
Fuel not changing under boost
I dont know if this may be a beta issue or issue on our end.
Hondata S300 beta 1.5.3.0
SpeedFactory 4 bar map sensor
Full-Blown twin walboro pumps
aeromotive a1000 FPR
deatschwerks 1000cc injectors saturated
we are having issues with boost creep (might be an issue with wrong spring.) Precision 46mm wastegate supposed to be 6psi spring but have moved boost cut a few times and seen 12psi boost cut. This issue we are working out hopefully precision will get back with us.
we were trying to tune for 6psi spring but i cannot get car to go below 12.0 af. you can see in the map where i have been dumping fuel at the last 3 columns.

Re: Fuel not changing under boost
Do you trust the wideband you are using ? Are you using the wideband configured for ELD or the Dyno?
Re: Fuel not changing under boost
absolutely trust this wideband. working fine untill boost. just got wind the car and owners laptop took it out and found a/f under boost 10.x af with the same beta version of smanager. this is on the map i am currently tuning but wouldnt go under 12's for me live or with him emailing me runs.
I think its software related!

Just an observation, but the way you configured your Voltage/Lamba Table and voltage offset is interesting. What wideband are you using ? Are you comparing your wideband readings to the Dyno's wideband ?FreshDA9 wrote:absolutely trust this wideband. working fine untill boost. just got wind the car and owners laptop took it out and found a/f under boost 10.x af with the same beta version of smanager. this is on the map i am currently tuning but wouldnt go under 12's for me live or with him emailing me runs.

Re: Fuel not changing under boost
Voltage lambda is stock hondata settings also most widebands are set up 0v = 10, 5v = 20.
an offset of .21 + or - is very common. this wideband is a aem (not a fan) I have a personal PLX dm5 and i also have a PLX M300TE used for customer cars and my offsets usualy are around +.20 to match the gauge and Hondata.
The car is being street tuned first before i put it on the dyno. but im 99% confident it will match our NTK sensor on our DynoJet.
as for an update I learned the customer had open a wategate port causing the boost issues. im thinking this may have caused issues with the readings.
Customer and his father took his laptop and did a run and said af on my map in boost said 10.0 on both wideband and logged in hondata. now im trying to figure out why its not showing under 12.0 on my computer. both laptops windows 7. I will have him send me a few e tune logs and see if they show on my laptop before i go out there again and finish low cam and low boost.

Definitely interesting. I'm surprised the car will run without hiccups at 10.0 AF, wouldn't hurt to double check that the Regulator is working as expected.FreshDA9 wrote:Voltage lambda is stock hondata settings also most widebands are set up 0v = 10, 5v = 20.

By the way what intercooler is on this car ? The IATs are through the roof. 190 degrees at some points, just keep in mind that because the IATs are so high, you have huge correction factors going on as well between -3.5% to -5%
Re: Fuel not changing under boost
I havent seen any cars hick up with more fuel. car runs fine just need to figure out this small issue.
as for the IAt i know they are high but under driving they sit around 175-190 degress and are fine. reason they are high is because the car has an engine bay shave and victor x manifold. the iat sensor sits under the manifold and heat soaks like crazy. its a poor design but i didnt design it.
I havent got any logs from the customer yet but i will soon find out this issue. car is great in partial throttle just this weird small problem.

Re: Fuel not changing under boost
I'm pretty familiar with where the IAT is located on a Victor X. As for V1.5.3, i don't see it being a software issue as the 7 cars I've done the past few weeks had no problems in terms of fueling.FreshDA9 wrote:I havent seen any cars hick up with more fuel. car runs fine just need to figure out this small issue.

Best of luck with your issue. I would go back and check the basics, Or perhaps put it on the dyno so you can monitor fuel pressure etc.
Re: Fuel not changing under boost
Depending on weather tomorrow i will be going back out to finish the street tune and get this closer to the dyno (our dyno is an inertia hince the street tuning part throttle). I will be checking with both mine and his laptop to see if it might be on my end. we both have the current beta but on my laptop it wouldnt go under 12.0 and on his it did on my tune. Hope to finish this tomorrow and see.

Re: Fuel not changing under boost
im out here now. seems to be an issue with the aem wideband. in boost the gauge reads 11.1-11.3 but in hondata its only going as low as 12.1.... I will post some graphs later with logs. car is running great but trying to figure out why its not logging under 12.1af.
wideband input ELD D10
Voltage = 0-10, 5-20, 5-20
offset -0.21v
working beautifully above 12.1 all the way to 19.9af. Hondata and Aem match perfectly. just cant log in smanager under 12.1af.

The offset and voltage you input won't read correctly with AEM UEGO in SmanagerFreshDA9 wrote:im out here now. seems to be an issue with the aem wideband. in boost the gauge reads 11.1-11.3 but in hondata its only going as low as 12.1.... Re: Fuel not changing under boost
God damnit starring me right in the face. Thanks buddy. ill check his wideband grounds and see if i can get it to a positive offset. the gauge and hondata match perfect at that offset. will post the results and hopefully i can end this thread.
