Upload failure K-Pro PRB

Post by Team GAPET »

- serial number of your K-Pro: 4991
- KManager version: 1.4.1.0
- what sort of vehicle you have: Civic Coupe -95, Civic VT -91
- what sort of ECU you are using: PRB
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU: A custom engine harness in the Coupe that is not correctly connected. Swap harness in the VT that works.
- a specific description of the problem: I bought a complete engine swap with K-Pro and a custom made engine harness. When I had plugged in everything so it locked correctly to me I turned the key and nothing happend. The onlything I could see with Kmanager was the serial number and firmware version. I then tried the K-Pro on another car, Civic VT -91, that is working with another PRB K-Pro. I tried to start with my K-Pro and nothing happend. I downloaded the calibration and that looked really strange. I tried to upload the same calibration that the car normally runs with and I got the upload failure messege. I reinstalled Kmanager on my laptop and tried again with the same result: Upload failure. I then tried to clear security and also that action resulted in failure.

Is there anything for me to do now or my solution is to send the K-Pro to a dealer?

The car that I first tried on is missing both main relay and the ground straps for the engine.

I have redone all of the wiring according to Hondata's wiring diagram and the main relay and fuel relay will not prime. After I grounded the main relay pin 86 to the chassie instead of E7 I got the fuel relay to prime and I could clear security and upload a new calibration and start the engine.

My main confusion is if the ECU can get damaged if I run the car like this. No error codes and a clean and steady idle.

Thanks for any ideas.

Send an email to support <at> hondata.com include good quality, in focus pictures of the inside of the ECU. Include a link to this thread.
