Hondata ECU on 1998 EK9 CTR (B16B)

Post by ek9_civic »

Hi guys, I am looking to get a Hondata ECU on my EK9 Civic. The thing is my car isn't listed as its OBD2, therefore I take it I must get an OBD1 ECU, a Hondata Kit for this and then a conversion wires to change OBD2 to OBD1. Is this correct?

Also I take it I would require bigger injectors, if so how big?

Is there anything else I would require?

Thanks.

Yes you need a hondata supported OBD1 ECU..yes there is a conversion harness (or you can get a P28 with OBD2 connector)..

Why would you require bigger injectors ? What mods do you have ?? Stock injectors can handle quite a lot of hp..

Mods so far include,

Top Fuel Power Chamber Kit
Skunk2 Racing Inlet Manifold
Jun 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold
JP Custom Made Exhaust
De-Cat Pipe
JDM EK9 0.25mm Oversized Pistons
Apexi VAFC II ? Fuel & VTEC Controller
Magnecore 8.5mm HT Leads
AP Racing Clutch
Fidanza 3.4Kg Billet Aluminium Fly Wheel

Not sure if I need the injectors, was advised I would need bigger ones.

Get rid of the VAFC ..Not necessary when you have Hondata. Hondata is the correct way to control both fuel and VTEC (especially VTEC..read about it onm hondata homepage ..tech..ODB1 ecu anatomy or something like that)

You might wanna get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator just to be on the safe side..That's the only thign I have added to my car I still run stock injectors but I increased fuel pressure to 55psi..And my engine puts down 186whp (206 hp at flywheel) and the injectors are not maxed out..Engine is a b18c6 (JDM ITR)
