Ecu problem?

Post by krollan »

Hello my first post here.
I´ve had my s300 in five years now without problems until recently.
It strated a couple of weeks ago and it`s quite annoying.
Every now and then the CEL goes on but no codes are stored in the ecu and the cars runs somewhat ok and then it`s just to stop the engine and turn it on again and the celit`s is gone and everything runs fine. Today when i thought to go to the bottom of it and to datalogg in the smanager if there were any codes when the car was runnig and cel on.
I got cel on and the smanager just freezes no readings what so ever turn it of and on againg everything ok and smanager is runnig like it`s suppose to,tried a couple of times and the same thing every time.
I opened up the ecu but coulden`t find any bad tracings, cold or broken soldering joints and nothing hade burnt a complete clean and nice board.
I cant remember where i bought the ecu but it was fron either you or importparts.com and it was a complete ecu with s300 chip in it and the number is s300-363 if i remeber it correct and jusing 1.4.8.0 verison.

I hope you understand my really terrible english writing, i`m from sweden so..
Best regards/

Can you try the s300 in a different ECU to see if it a problem with the ECU or the s300?

I could try not manny here in sweden that uses s300,but i will find one eventually.
It`s not a big problem just a annoying one.
It`s only happens when i turn of the engine and somewhat direct starts it again.
Is the chip directly solderd in the board or is it mounted on pins who are solderd to the board?

It should be in pins and the s300 can easily be removed from the ECU. When you do this double check all the solder points and you can even touch them up to make sure they are all good. IT does not look like the ECU was sold by us at the time of the s300 purchase.

Thanks for the info and help, then i will take it out and check it out.
Btw is there any way to measure with a voltmeter if there is any continuality between pins or in the chip?
Then i must have bought it from importparts or more precisly my friend who had a import buisness at the time who toke everything home here to sweden for me.
