Lean

Post by CBHK »

whats up...I built this motor a year ago in Kansas City, and got it tuned there... I moved to the Oregon coast... I was tuned on 91octane and out here I all I can get is 92octane... Here is my file... A/F is good in neutral when i wind up the RPM, but sometimes ill be driving and it will want to go lean as hell, max out on the gauge...also, when i get on it hard the A/F will do the same thing... sometimes it will do this and sometimes it wont... stressin me out too...

GSR block
GSR head (PNP)
pro1 cams
flat valves
dual valvesprings
skunk2 IM portmatched
68mm TB
pr-3 pistons
hytech replica

are you serious with this datalog? logging without driving?!

when you go of the throttle it's right, that the car leans out. it has to do that, because coming from high rpm to lower ones the injectors are switched off.

do a datalog running round your block.

and don't mind about the 91/92 octance fuel. the higher the octane, the better the fuel. here I can get up to 102octane!
the standard is 95, the premium is 98. and these values are the minimum values. ;)

Luke. Do you know the difference between ROZ and MOZ? In the states you got the octanes rated in MOZ, we in europe have it rated in ROZ. So the 92 octane gas in oregon is the same as our 100 octane!!

guckst du hier -> http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktanzahl

are you sure with that difference?
AON (that, what is printed on the distributors in the US) is (ROZ+MOZ)/2.

i know, that that there is a difference, but that it shall be that high (92octane MOZ = 100octane ROZ) is new for me.

the fuel cannot be the problem, i guess more a temperature compensation!!

NO NO, when i go from steady driving(3500rpm) to full throttle it goes lean.... you'll see later, stuck till later, watchin my daughter.. it dont ever huck and buck, but it all I find myself doing these days is staring at my A/F the whole time i drive... sucks, gotta figure this out...

Temp compensation? it does seem to do it more when cold

Calibration and a datalog, otherwise it's almost impossible to tell you what it could be!!

I adjusted the timing to 16deg as it said when i clicked, set timing... wierd, cause when they tuned it on the dyno, i put a notch on the dizzy and now it dont match up... i have changed the rotor, cap, and ignition coil though...(yes all OEM), could that have been why the timing could have been a little off? Crank and cam gears are good too... I sure feels hella better drivin, but see how the A/F starts to raise as the rpm goes up... I couldn't keep on it cause there was cars... I do another run later... we'll see what it does...

take a look at your ect correction and also to the manifold pressure. you have a na engine, and more than 1bar absolute @ 37% throttle? i´m not sure with that, but....

dont know bout that bro... im hopefully gonna be gettn this job next week and just hit the dyno soon... but i still hate the fact that i cant woop these kids here in town cause i dont want to get on it... is it ok go into the Table page and select items that need the fuel% adjustment after the 7th column...or is it more to it than that...
