Engine Dying out and Random times.

Post by Funbar »

- 1998 Honda Civic.
- VTEC Converted P06 with PWM Boost components. (Installed and tested from Xenocron) S300 v1.4.8.0.
- I'm running a Stock B16A With HASport Mounts (92A in the rear, Which gives the car a fair bit of vibration), with a GT3076R turbo, RC 750cc Injectors, Walbro 255hp Fuel Pump.. Skunk2 Intake Manifold and Skunk2 76mm Throttle body (Port Matched), Omnipower TPS, Hondata 4bar MAP.

Problem is, At random times.. It sounds like the ECU resets. I can hear something like a relay clicking and it dies out for that split second. The datalogs keep reading and I've saved a few.. I tried to stop the log once the it clicks, so.. You'll notice the 'Blurps' near the end of the datalogs.

It looks like either your main relay is cutting out, or your ECU itself is resetting. The s300 is staying on as it is continuing to datalog and also keeps reading the RPM. Try the ECU in a known good vehicle and see if hte problem persists, if it does not, it is most likely an intermittent wiring issue or the main relay. If the problem does persist then try the s300 in a different ECU and if that makes the problem go away then you know it is the ECU.

There is times where I key off (while driving) and key back on, and it will be fine until the next random time I start it..

So.. Yeah, I guess it would sound like a relay issue.

I just replaced the Main Relay.. Fixed the issue.
Just to clear up what the issue was. :)
