mil shift light to a led shift light

hey whats up guys.. i am tryin to hook up a bright led to the mil shift light, cause the one in the cluster isnt that bright to see when racing.. i checked the mil wire (green/orange wire) with a volt meter and it puts out a constant 12 volts when the mil light is on, and i turn it off it goes up to 13.5 volts or so.. i searched and found a topic and they were sayin the mil output is a ground, am i trying to use the wrong wire.. it would be nice to have a warning/ shift light.. any help would be awesome, thanks

The s200 installation manual has information on using a LED for the shiftlight.
