Loading my map onto k-pro

Post by Lambo123 »

Whats up guys? Quick question. So i got a dyno tune and my tuner sent me a copy of the tune through email. I installed kmanager on my laptop. But every time i try to download the .kal file it automatically brings k-manager up but nothing is there. Everything is blank (tables, parameters, etc.) and i can't click on any options. All i want to do is disable the iac function because i just switched to an rrc. Is there something i need to do to successfully download my dyno tune file into k-manager? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff.

NOTE: IF there is an existing tune on the ECU; you need to ensure the version of KManager on you laptop is the same as the KAL presently loaded into the ECU or you may have difficulties communicating with the ECU.
Make sure the dyno tune .kal file is on your laptop, plug the KPRO ECU USB cable into the laptop (drivers are previously installed?), start KManager program, turn ignition to ON, but donot start the car.

To ensure the new .kal can be loaded into the ECU; you need to prepare the chip for programming and should erase the existing program in the ECU since there could be a problem overwriting the existing .kal with a new one. With KManager open select Online from top dropdown menu, select Tools and then select Erase ECU security. There will be a prompt asking if you really want to do this; select Yes.
This process should take about 1-2 minutes, once erasing is done you will see a prompt to turn off ignition and wait 1 minute. Close the KManager Program and then restart the KManager program.
Open .kal file by selecting the folder symbol from top drop down menu, choose where to download the file from on the laptop, open Datalog function (yellow lightning bolt), select Online from top menu and select Upload (up arrow), the file should start uploading and take 1-2 minutes.
Once upload is complete turn vehicle ignition OFF and then try to start your car. If vehicle starts you are done with programming.
