Swap of air intake need retune?

I am thinking of switching from Fat tummy intake to straight open pod air intake. DO i need retune for my S300? Anyone did this before can help? Tks

a change of the intake doesn't change so much... it could provide some more air, that the mixture gets leaner...

i would take a look over it, since i have a wideband here.
since you don't have, don't worry to much, you still the the lambda regulation circuit ;)

I think what Luke is trying to say is the normal operation of your ECU will compensate for the extra/reduced air from your different intake :)

It's the normal operation of closed loop; ECU reads O2 level corrects, reads O2 corrects, etc non-stop :)

Can educate me what is the purpose of tuning since ECU can already adjust the amt of fuel according to air intake etc by itself to run at slightly richer AF ratio? From what i know stock ECU has a base map and then S300 will have its own tuned map.Isn't the S300 tuned map no difference from a stock ECU map once Airflow changes (after swap of air intake)? Pls enlighten me

The ecu only adjusts A/F at loads under @750 mbar (user definable on S300), not at wide open. Intakes can change A/F a lot in areas, but probably not enough to damage the engine.
