Kpro not recognized by laptop

Post by autoenthusiast24 »

My Kpro isn't working right.. When I plug it in to my laptop the blue "i" icon shows up in KManager but it doesn't have any actual details about the ECU.. The serial # on the Kpro board itself is 05002687 but I can't pull up the 4 digit number because KManager doesn't bring it up and I don't have the original box.

Also, I looked over everything on the inside of the ECU there is nothing that appears to have burnt out on the OEM ECU or the Kpro daughterboard. I've heard Hondata will cover failed Kpros if it's not due to poor grounding, is this true?

-- Oh yeah, and NO lights turn on when it's plugged in, not green or red. I haven't looked at it while plugged into my car yet as I've got the stock ECU in since I realized it's not functioning properly so I'm not sure if they're only suppose to come on when it's plugged in the car or what.

You need to see if the lights come on when you have it plugged in to the car with the ignition on. This system is several years old and is no longer under warranty.

I wish that was mentioned yesterday when I was on the phone asking about warranty information and was told it would be covered if it was a component failure. I already mailed it in with my a check for $100. Why wasn't this mentioned I gave the serial number and asked if it was covered under warranty?
