S2000 LTFT & PE map

Post by rog06s2k »

Hi, while going trough your tuning tutorial I picked up on the following quote “Under high load when the ECU stops running in closed loop the long term adjustment is still used so increasing fuel delivery via these means in not recommended unless the ECU is recalibrated or closed loop disabled.”
So to me that clearly states that the LTFT’s will add fuel while in the power enrichment map if the LTFT is positive (lean condition)
Can you confirm that it will only add fuel not remove?
Can you tell me what S2000 year ECU’s do this? Is it a late OBDII feature? Wideband O2 sensors only?
Thanks
Rog

What tuning tutorial is this in?

The long term fuel trim is not used in open loop.

Thanks for the quick reply, found that here http://www.hondata.com/techclosed.html under tuning implication.
Are you aware of any Honda ECU that would use the LTFT values in open loop?
Been searching a lot and apparently LTFT correction can be used in open loop on certain OEM ECU's...
I really want to go to the bottom of this.
Thanks again

The web page is incorrect - I've fixed it. Long term fuel trim is not used for open loop correction for any of the ECUs we provide solutions for.
