please help me adjust tps

Post by packrat555 »

when I measure voltage at the ecu:

I get .40 - 5.2 vdc. I have tried adjusting the tps sensor as far both directions and on the low side .4 is as high as I can get.

I also question why the range is so great.
Is the range supposed to be .5 - 4.5???

If you're getting over 5V then something is wrong, but the reference voltage is 5V.

Normally you don't need to measure the voltage at all. Just switch the ignition on, start datalogging, under 'Scale TPS' hit 'read' for the lower voltage, then apply full throttle and hit 'read' for the upper voltage.

when i do that it reads -5% and 104%
are you saying this does not present any problems?

somewhere I read the tps signal voltage range is .5 - 4.5 volts and that you might need to adjust the tps

You can always manually adjust the TPS to be as close to 0 as possible that way the correction is minimal.

I purchased a new hybrid tps sensor and that fixed the problem.
