SManager not downloading calibration from ECU

Post by CarlosSpiceyWiener »

Per FAQ:

- the calibration (as an attachment)
Not possible

- a datalog of a problem (as an attachment)
Again, not possible

- what sort of vehicle you have
1994 Honda Accord H22A Turbo

- what sort of ECU you are using
P06 w/ S300

- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc).
Non-VTEC ECU with relay (works fine)

- a specific description of the problem
I installed my S300 on Thursday night and tuned my car Friday afternoon at a local shop. We tried to use my laptop to tune but it keeps loosing connection with the ECU, then SManager locks up and crashes.

It's a Dell D400 with a GB of ram, new HDD and a fresh install of XP running the newest build of SManager.

The tuner switched to is laptop to finish my Accord since mine wouldn't work, I don't know what build of SManager he's using.

Car is tuned and runs fine, but I'd like to be able to adjust my idle, and I can't. The Dell will run SManager, it sees my S300 and will connect and run realtime, but I cannot change any parameters (greyed out) and I cannot download the calibration from the ECU. When I click online, download, I get the warning, click ok, then it just sits there saying receiving, the ECU is connected because I can see values change, but it hangs and has to be shutdown (Ctrl+Alt+Del).

What's the deal?

You should contact your tuner and have them email you the calibration. Once you have the calibration load it into the software and make the changes you want, then with the key in the on position but the car not running you should be able to upload the calibration. What you are describing sounds like interference from the ignition system. Make sure you have resister type spark plugs and all OEM ignition components.

Wow, I don't even know what to say. I'm trying to figure out who knows less about this, me or the 48 other people who read this thread and didn't point that out.

Thank you for the ONE solution that worked. :D

I owe you a beer if you ever make it to Colorado.
