TPS not displaying

Post by Calle »

Sorry if this has been covered already, if so just point me in the right direction :)

Just installed S300 into 89 CRX with D16a6 (blox TPS, stock injectors, CAI, AEM TB and Intake mani, Header, Innovate wideband)

Trying to use the Hondata D16 calibration as a base-map.

Having issue with TPS!!!!!!!!!!!!
While data-logging with ignition on but motor NOT running, TPS shows normal movement in "sensor page".
HOWEVER! when motor is running TPS does not show movement unless you really stab at the gas, car really jerks when it does read.
This becomes more noticeable when car gets to operating temp.

Otherwise car seems to run quite smooth, if not a little lean.

TPS was set at 0.5 volt at closed throttle (read to 4.5 volts at wide open using ohmmeter)

(I am really new at this and not trying to tune my car, just get everything working and then drive it to the next town for a tune)

Coles notes:
TPS issue causing car to do the herkey jerk

Could be a loose connection or short in wiring which is reacting to engine vibration. Replace TPS to see if problem still exsists.

This is NOT a mechanical/wiring issue.

Just tested car with a P07 ecu and car has none of the TPS issues that it has with the S300 ecu.

Is there any calibrations or settings I need to make in S300 for the Blox TPS?

thats why IMO its handy if the next version of hondata s300/smgr should display TPS volts and not just % like it did with the S200

try your s300 ecu on another car..if it has that car also has the same problem then......

maybe u need to tune it first?
