throttle body problems

i've got a base rsx with the k20 jdm engine i swapped witch came with a busted tps. after trying out a few after market ones (exuidum, hydrid racing, and one other) that would work at first for a few months then start givin me the (kicks) and having to adjust it constently, i thought i might try my old base throttle body because it had the oem tps and cruse control would be nice. the tps was workin fine but when i took it around the block the rpms would drop down after taking it out of gear and it would die. it looked like a little black smoke was coming out of the tail pipe too. could this all be from a stuck idle valve? or is there some other reason?

Try cleaning the idle control valve.
