Help boost solenoid over boosting
I just hooked up a brand new mac boost solenoid and ran into problems.
I have a 6 pound spring and started adjusting it at 0% duty cycle which should be off the spring but when i drive it around it boost past 6 and hits boost cut which is set at 10lb. I disconnected the power wire and it ran fine off the gate. i double checked my wiring and rewired the 12v to the fuse box with same problem. all my wiring connection is soldered and all my vacuum hose is good.
followed the hondata instructions on how to plumb the vacuum line. port 1 of the solenoid goes to the bottom of waste gate t into the compressor housing, the number 2 port runs to the top of the waste gate and the 3rd port is left open. the 1 wire from the solenoid is wired to a 12v switch and the 2nd wired to the ecu pin A7 obd2a.
I do have the pwm boost component soldered in.
settings:
-enabled a11
-solenoid normally closed
-fix duty cycle 0%
-activation pressure 3psi
-solenoid frequency 31hz
car:

t3/t4 spooling performance turbo setup

no buzzing sound and also port number 1 that goes to the bottom of the wastegate is closedHondata wrote:Set your activation pressure to 1 kPa, key the ignition on, and check for the solenoid making a buzzing sound. If not, it's the components or wiring. If so, then blow air into the line from the wastegate bottom port and check that the solenoid is closed to that port.
from my understanding the mac solenoid works between 10-90% duty cycle 10% being lowest boost and 90% highest boostWolli wrote:was playing around this weekend with my map, and set the duty cycle to 0%. my boost also raised up to 18 psi(pwm output was at 0 in the log!). with 10% i just have the 7 psi of my wg spring. was driving around last week with 35% @ 10 psi. something must be wrong again in the software!!
