Idle problem after Kpro

Post by joecivic »

Ok, i tried searching, but i cant find anything. Maybe my search skills suck on any forum. but ever since i got my Kpro, then got it hooked up and tuned, ive had a wierd idle problem.

when it is started and just sitting there, it idles fine after its warmed up. like about 950-1000RPM. but when i put in in first, and let off the clutch after giving a little gas, the RPMs drop to like 100 and the car shakes like it wants to stall out, then goes back up and drives fine. and if i want to put it in neutral to a rolling stop, after being in gear, it does the same thing. it falls to about 100 RPM and goes back up to normal idle RPMs. its only first gear, and going into neutral after being in gear

this is only after having Kpro hooked up and tuned. is there something on the Kmanager i can do to set the idle different, or is this just a coincidence that once i get Kpro, my IACV is dirty?

em... you could try:

Parameters Windows
[Idle] Tab
Idle Valve Duty Cycle Adjustment <-- Move it 4 steps higher and see if it helps.

If no go, then clean the valve :)

thanks. i think i fixed the problem today after cleaning in the engine bay. there was this skinny wire with a wire crimp inside that goes on this nipple thing on the side of the valve cover. that "nipple thing" has 3 sides to it, like a tri-nipple. lol. sorry, im not sure what they are called. but now my car isnt idling like it was. i just plugged that wire into that nipple and squeezed it so it pinched itself shut.

im just wondering what that was, and why that would cause it to idle like it did. thanks anyways though. next time, i will try that duty cycle adjustment if something happens again with the idle thats different.
