Broken K-Pro Cause Damage to Car?

Post by Yahoo »

Long story short, I bought an 02-04 K-Pro and was going to get it converted to an 05-06 K-Pro for my Type-S. Sent it in to Hondata, they replied stating that the K-Pro didn't work and it would cost $100 for diagnosis.

I still want to test the K-Pro on a friends 02-04 Type-S, but I am wondering if there will be any harm that could become of this?

The serial number on the K-Pro board is 05000189.

If you need any additional information/pictures please let me know and I can post it up as soon as possible. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

I believe it was Mike, and it was awhile back, maybe in April.

If I plug it into the car, how would I be able to tell if it works or not?

Even without being in the car, or being in the car with no power, if you plug the ECU into the laptop via USB the little info option should become available in KManager. The blue i next to the connect/datalog buttons on the toolbar - these two, naturally, should NOT light up if there's no car power going to it.

Ok so I plugged it into my computer and it recognized it. I clicked the information icon and this is what it gave me.

Where could I find a 02-04 base map that I could load on to the K-Pro so I can try to use it on my friends RSX?

Is there some hope left?

Thanks for all the help, please let me know if you need any additional information.

KManager comes with a ton of base maps - including one for a stock 02-04 that worked great when I had to return my car to stock temporarily

Ok so I plugged my K-Pro into my friends RSX and the car starts up. The problem is that I can't do a datalog or upload a calibration. On the bottom left of K manager, it says online but even when the car is on it says Ignition off. Any ideas? What's going on?

Spunkster, would you be able to tell if the ECU is a reflash by the serial number?

It has a K-Pro, not a reflash.
