Lambda PLX 250 capacitor / resistor install question

Post by fox30 »

I have read the PLX instructions on both Hondata and PLX Devices web sites and got confused. Hondata talks about adding a resistor into the harness for fooling the ecu. PLX Doesnt mention adding a resistor but talks about adding a noise filtering capacitor. Do I do both? or can I get away with not doing any of it. Anyone can explain it better?

Last, I know what resistor to use but dont know what capacitor I should get. A capacitor didn't come with my kit PLX M250 kit.
What capacitor to use?

should be a chart, on the instructions page for the wideband install for all hondata equipped ecu's showing you the pinouts of each ecu model. Or even just a download of a PDF for each ECU showing which pinout is which would be nice. Help most people out during installs. Just a suggestion

nevermind I got it:
capacitor 0.1uf - 0.3uf with a minimum of 25Volt rating.
Figured I add it case someone needs to know

my PLX came with the caps. that is for noise filtering . The resistors are for not getting the heated O2 code. i still didnt install the resistor, i cant find the wire i need, lol.

Why would you get a heater code? Isn't the sensor heated? [appologies for my ignorance]

No , using the wideband is not heated, so you would need to add one 20ohm 10watt resisor (or 2 '10 ohm' 10 watt resistors in series) to fool the computer to think the heating element is there. Otherwise the check eng light would come on. the wide band doesnt have/use a heating element.
