I'm building up a one-off car and I got the engine running earlier, loading and running a map successfully. Since then the engine has been removed while the wiring is finalized. Part of the setup includes running a flat-panel dash that can talk to the Hondata ECU.
Plugged everything together and started up KManager... which connects fine but that's about it. I know it's talking because the ECU throws a bunch of codes - to be expected with no sensors. However, when I go to the "Misc" screen (or any screen for that matter), everything is grayed out. Why?
Being a noob with KPro, I'm probably not doing something right, but what else is there but clicking on "Log"? I really doubt this isn't working because I have no engine.
Does KPro/KManager work without an engine?

Regarding the flat-dash, I to tell KPro to spew serial data at the flat-dash but the info that came with the flat-dash seems wrong. They say there's a KManager.ini file in the installation directory... I can't find one. I'm supposed to add, under settings, a new line, "DataloggingOutput=1"
Then, under the KPro Misc file, select "Datalogger Output" option.

You must load your calibration to see the Parameters.

Thanks. Okay, I found kmanager.ini and added DataloggingOutput=1 to the Settings area.
I then started KManager, and while the first two options under Multiplexer are enabled, "Normal" and the two "datalogger output" choices are still grayed out. How can I enable these?

Per the Hondata help file..
Note that only PRB calibrations support the serial output. PRB calibrations may be used in PNF, PRD, PRC and PND ECUs with re-tuning, but cannot be used in PRA ECUs.
So, make sure you are using a PRB calibration. :)

The ECU itself is a PRB, but that's a good point. I didn't know there was a way of selecting a different ECU calibration (PRA, PRC, etc)...
Ah, I found it... but with a currently working (but non-PRB) calibration, how can I convert it to PRB. Guess I have lots of reading to do...

You could either screen shot all of your tables and type them all back into a new calibration, or, there is a way to copy the stuff from the calibration in a text editor, but it is not normally advised to do this..
