Accord shift problems

We replaced the clutch and shifter cables in my friends 90' Accord EX. WE used factory replacement parts. The car runs great. It will go in every gear, until you start the car. and when the car is running it wont go in any gear. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to re-bleed your clutch.

The clutch is not releasing when you push the pedal, so the trans has load on it as soon as you start the engine.

If this is a cable opperated clutch: then the cable is improperly adjusted, EZ fix.

If it is a hydrualic clutch: then there could be air in the clutch hydrualic line as Dax says, if that is the case, then the pedal will feel soft and low. If the pedal feels normal then the most likely cause is the clutch is not the right one for the car.
