S2000 KPRO PLX QUESTION

Post by S2000 »

Hi new here to the site, but I have lurked for about a year. I have a 2002 s2000 that I want to k pro. I know that the s2000s did not have a wideband stock. If i run a PLX wideband will I have all the capabilities to tune in wideband. For instance will the lambda overlay work , will the onboard datalogging work. I read on here that the lean protection will not work. Any way to make it work?I don't mind if the lean protection won't work, but i really want to be a able to tune with a wideband O2 sensor.

P.S I have downloaded the K manager and have messed with it for several months. It is a great program. :D

your really better off with a stock wideband and all the options. get a Kpro that can utilize an 02-04 wideband sensor. get yourself a relay , and wire the rsx wideband sensor in your car with kpro. its not that difficult and well worth it.

You can do everythign you want with a PLX wideband. The only thing that will not work is the ability to run in closed loop with the wideband and use lean protection. You can still run in closed loop as long as you use the PRA calibration that is designed for a 00-05 S2000.

Thanks for the reply Spunkster, and for clearing that up. Wideband tunning with the ap1 s2000 is going to be nice. despite the fact that the lean protection in not possible I am leaning toward the kpro.

Not having the ability to run a wide band in closed loop should not pose any problems with engine upgrades in the future? I mean if i run an inline pro turbo next year with a meth injection and NO2 will I run into problems running a narrow band o2 in closed loop? I will still buy a PLX for dataloging and A/F monitoring. Sorry for all of the questions I just want as much info as possible before I buy.
