I have an exhaust and ... header. before FP, my car sounded really great, throaty and deep sounding. After FP, it has lost a lot of its bark. not nearly as loud or deep sounding. why is this? is there anyway to change it?
thanks
why is my car so quiet?
I didn't notice any change in the top end sound of my vehicle. I'm running ... header, intake, and exhaust. I *did* notice that VTEC didn't roar into it's phase. I can hear it go into VTEC for sure, but just not to the extreme whaaa...WHAAAA that it did before. More like...WhaaaaaAAAAAAAA...yeah, if that makes any sense :P
Paraphrasing my sound effects, the VTEC transition is much smoother with Hondata, not a radical bump that Honda did on purpose. In the sales person training for the Honda Si, the sales people are told to take the customer out on the highway, roll down the windows, and listen to VTEC kick in ;-)
But in comparison to say 8000RPMs between no Hondata and with Hondata, I notice no real difference. And really, having the car a bit more quiet isn't really a bad thing ;) Is the difference you're hearing only at the VTEC crossover, or throughout the entire power band? And did you notice a loss of power? Maaaybe your ears have just gone bad...?
