HELP, request for someone to look at my datalog

Post by Cha27se »

i have an 05 type s, my mods are...shitty short ram intake that came on the car, megan racing shorty header, magnaflow catback exhaust, rbc intake manifold, hondata intake manifold gasket, kpro. The calibration i loaded is one i found. its a good start im sure, feels like it kinda bogs a little right after vtec engages. i dont really know much about the tuning part of kmanager otherwise i would do it myself. the datalog run is the bottom of second all the way through a few gears. then i drove down the road, turned, and got on it one more time, thats where i felt it bog once vtec engaged. thanks

Do another pull just like you did but start at 2k in 3rd, not 2nd.

And try this kal instead and see if you notice a difference.

ok i loaded that up and did a run heres the results. I made sure the run was done on an open loop. One thing i had a question about was the vtec oil pressure switch. i noticed it was switched off but all the other tunes ive noticed its been on? does that at all matter?

It felt pretty good, it knocked a few times i know that. Still kinda seems like it bogs down right after vtec. Should i run this new one?

Yep. It should feel better after VTEC on this one. Not much, but some. Go ahead and get me a good part throttle datalog as well if you plan on driving on it.

sounds good, oh quick question. What is the closed loop open loop mean? I ran two runs, closed loop first starts out with a 3rd gear pull then after that i do a little regular driving. The open loop starts out with daily driving and after about 30 sec i do a 3rd gear pull all the way through. Overall that tune is starting to feel a lot better, vtec seems to be a smoother engagment. Still maybe a little bit of a bog somewhere right after vtec kicks in but maybe thats just normal im not sure.

Ok for this one. Turn the car datalogging on the turn the car on and let it idle up to warm. Once it warmed up drive around for a while then make the pull and drive back home or whatever and let it run the whole time.
