Problems should be related i believe. I have a red and and a green light on my working S300. Also have a miss around 6000 rpm (VTEC).
Unhooked the VTEC solenoid at the distributor and the miss goes away.
I have ran this on a different ECU and the problem is exactly the same.
i do check engine lights but only ELD and VTEC Spool. but no VTEC Spool on the Stock ECU.
I am pretty puzzled on this one. I need to know what the red light on the hondata is for because i have never seen it before now? and since it does it on two different ECU's i am sure it is a wiring problem. Just don't know where to start looking
red and green light?
red light indicates you probably have on-board datalogging turned on all the time. Dsiable on-board datalogging. The miss has nothing to do with the red light. If you are getting a VTEC spool error then there appears to be a problem somewhere. Try the ECU on a known good car and see if the problem persists. Does VTEC actually engage?
ok i will check my datalogging and make sure i am not logging all the time. i got an idea with the coil wires and coil that i am going to check tomorrow.
i will post up what i find! thanks for the help.
i did check the solenoid and it works so i am pretty sure that VTEC is engaging and the miss changed when i disconnected the vtec solenoid. At the same time i have noticed the miss is still there with the VTEC disconnected so it is leaning me more towards an ignition issue. follow link to pic of the coil wiring that i did i am going to check tomorrow
