problems switching from Crome to s300

Post by Evans Performance »

so, i tuned this car on crome and it was fine. the guy bought an s300 and when i went to retune it, the car overheats and drives part throttle horribly. once in boost it seems ok. both crome and the s300 are using the same ignition maps and that was the only change. i did retard the boost timing some just in case there were any differences in the 2.

i added 20% timing and it ran cooler and drove a little better, i added another 20% and it now runs around the proper temp and drives pretty decent. just for fun, he stuck the ecu in with the crome chip i tuned and it all goes back to normal, drives nice and doesnt overheat. any ideas?

i have tuned cars with s300's before and never had these issues

no. crome was on a p28 and s300 on a p72.

i finally had a little time to play with it again yesterday. for some reason, it went super lean. im not really sure what happened, but i got it worked out. now he just has to get is chargpipes to quit popping off and we will be able to get a good tune on it

Do you have enabled "debug mode" switch when tuned on Crome?

I don't think so. Everything on this car worked properly so it wasn't needed.

I will have to go back and check next time I am near my laptop though
