Boost Solenoid

Post by kte324 »

I have a Greddy Profec boost controller, I was wondering if I could use the solenoid with the s300 for boost by gear?

Is it a separate solenoid?

Yes, it is a seperate solenoid, normally wired to a electronic boost controller with high and low settings. I attached a picture of it.

It may work if you can figure out how to plumb it, but without knowing if it is a normally open or normally closed setup it is a bit of a gamble. The solenoids we sell are normally closed and are much safer if there is any kind of failure. IF somethign fails with one of ours, you will not over boost, you will be limited by the wastegate spring.

It has fittings where I can run the lines to it, but I guess I will just have to hook it up and see what happens. Thanks.

I was in the middle of installing/troubleshooting Hondata boost control with my old PRofec B boost solenoid when my turbocharger decided to disintegrate. I couldn't get everything to work together right. Kept overboosting. Sorry, not much help right now, but I am going to keep trying once I put the turbo back on.
