P28 no power

Post by Poey2 »

Hi,

My s300 p28 ecu just died last night for no reason. It started with occasional power then no power. When I said no power there is no light and no connection to the labtop. Then it would power up after several seconds. Now its not working at all.

Is it the s300 or a bad ecu?

thanks

More than likely it is the ECU. Have you chekced inside the case? Does it smell funny?

The fishy smell is the main capacitor that has died. You may be able to replace it, but usually it damages the circuit board. IF you use the P75 you will have to use a relay and use the alternate VTEC output.

thanks for answering my questions

I have found this vtec conversion online that i would like to experiment with.

http://www.xenocron.com/vtec-conversion ... ecfd29f4e9

If i use this kit will i still need to use a relay and an alternate vtec output on my P75?

thanks again.
