sending the ecu for socketing

Post by pvt_awol »

I was just wondering, if I'm going to send a virgin P28 in for socketing, do I need to contact Hondata first to let them know it's coming? Or am I just supposed to send a cashier's check with an ecu to some address and cross my fingers?

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has sent in their ecu's and just used the form on the main page, and everything worked out fine and they got their ecu back in 3 days or so.

oh, and I need to know if my price will be the $75 it mentions on the main page for a virgin socketing, or if I'm going to get a call wanting more money because I have one of the P28's that has a factory modification. (the p28 with the chip in IC3 that has the copper tape on the top)

Let me know as soon as you guys get back in the office after the holidays, so I can get this sent out to you.

Thanks in advance!!!

You do not need to contact anyone first. Just fill out all the paperwork, include the cashier's check and it will be done. If there are any problems you will be contacted. As long as it is a completely stock ECU there should be no problem socketing it.

Indeed it is a virgin ecu.

However, some Ecu's from say, California are "chipped" from the factory. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have even more down time, if I am contacted to send more money. I would prefer to send enough up front, and just get it all done at once.
