KPro port plug broken

Post by Lambo123 »

Whats up guys, new to the forum. Not sure where serial number is but on the board itself it says "E-8 94V-0. 2407. Hondata, Inc. KProg Rev13d." Other than that i dont see any other numbers. Just bought this car used its a 96 ek civic w/ 04 k20a2 swap w/kpro. There is one problem though. The port where you plug it into a computer is broken (the usb connector). I opened up the ecu and found that it is the little silver box on the board. I'm guessing that needs to be replaced. Anyone know if this is possible? im trying to avoid having to buy a new kpro, but can't retune my car or basically do anything until this is fixed. And im wondering if hondata can even help me if there's no serial number. might have been scratched off by the previous owner but im not sure. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Well there may be a white sticker on the kpro board that has a number on it, which would be the serial number. The only other way would be to hook up the USB port and look in the software. I am sure hondata or a local hondata dealer should be able to either sell you another daughter board or fix your current one and get you going again.

Appreciate the input. I'm thinkin that the previous guy that owned the kpro removed the sticker. Not sure why...but i'm hoping hondata can help me out even if there's no serial number on it. I'll call them tomorrow.

The KPro could very well have been stolen, hence no serial number sticker

See if hondata will help you out, if not then resoldering a broken USB connector isn't all that hard, if in fact that is the only thing wrong with it.
